Social & Emotional Learning

Social and emotional health underpins our ability to feel confident and able to learn.

We have a strong focus on supporting student well-being to enable our children to feel happy, safe, and secure at school and in a space where they can learn. Each class is supported by an Education Support Officer to allow a high level of student/teacher guidance. We are part of the Murdoch Institute Mental Health and Wellbeing Initiative and have Erin Brass employed four days each week to support the MH&W in the school. Erin guides staff and works with students in this space.

We also offer SEL (Social/Emotional Learning )support groups, The Seasons for Growth Program for those who have experienced change or loss and we run The Resilience Project program from foundation to year six. We worked with our community to establish positive behaviours for learning as outlined in the matrix below and work with a MACS PBL coach to support our culture of positive behaviours towards each other.
